Canadian War Trophies

As a fellow Canadian I have also spent a lifetime cruising through our antique stores looking for treasure. Congratulations on this find and my thanks for your post. I have never seen this book before. 👍

I saw a couple of German WW1 cannon this spring while visiting Tony S. in New Brunswick. The plaque on them stated that they had been awarded as bond sale prizes. I took photos but I may have deleted them.

A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon an interesting booklet in an antique shop. It’s a “catalogue” of the items on display in a travelling show that exhibited war trophies to the public, right after the war. Fascinating stuff!

That Husar busby is Prussian
with an attempt to convert it
to 1 L H R 1 ; 2 L H R 2 or H R 17
anyway it is an incorrect put together piece
The skull I think Zeb pointed out in another thread
is from a Braunschweig early shako

I noticed that too. It's interesting that even back then, headdresses from the totenkopf units were seen as desirable
