That's pretty cool! I have one dedicated to a war bond worker, an M15 infantry type, but this is much better!

I think it went pretty cheaply, IMHO, considering its connection. But then again, I didn't bid at all. :)

Agreed, not what I suspected. I did also not bid and if I would have. I would probably had to hide six feet under ground in case my wife would find out.

In case any disappointed bidders would like a second shot at this helmet, it is now on sale again at 'Trophies of War' website (in the UK) for £8500!
Some considerable way out of my league, so good luck whoever is feeling brave!

Steve, this helmet has been for sale on this website for a while, well before it appeared on ebay.
