Chinstrap M1915?

It's been a while we didn't discuss a leather chinstrap...

What do you think of this one which seems like an M15 to me: The reverse seems dyed and the adjustment buckles look uneven... :-k

The buckles do not match, one is not as thick as the other. One looks like the thinner pre war brass buckles. I also do not believe the end fittings are a matcheed pair either. The leather strap though does look good. I would say this is a "made up" strap from dug metal parts.
 
I am sure that everyone is aware but......Ebay is swamped at the moment by pickelhauben parts and various other German metal bits dug up in Latvia. This would be cool and a great help to us collectors looking to complete certain helmets. However, and unfortunately, the soil in Latvia must be acidic as it "pits" these brass or steel M15 parts. They scream........"I've been in the earth for 100 years"!!!!! to anyone who knows what proper fittings look like. So, do not waste your money on them.
