Thats very interesting.

What abt the wappen, does it made of cork, too? I mean, embossed cork? What abt the spike and cruciform spike base, are they also made of cork? And any liner?

Does anyone here has this cork manouver helmet? I am really curious.

Thanks
BB

The description states that all fittings (except the chin scales) including the wappen are made of carved wood covered in cloth Bambang. I find this piece just amazing. Gus I do not think that the SOS helme was dragoon....but I could be wrong. I think that at the very least we should add the makers' name to our list if it is not there already. Joe have you looked at this piece? Maker is Ludwig Bordtfeld Bremen. Brian

Nice piece ,Did we not review these style of field haubes on another blog? ones made of papermache etc. Still nice piece . There was another piece in the auction ,the Brittish pith helmet with Marine Wappen.
