Sigh, someone thinks they got an authentic pickelhaube there. That's sad that some day when they go to sell it on, they will find out they were royally hoodwinked.

You know what I think would make an ebay seller of pickelhaubes creditable, if they attached a link to this site of lets say Kaisers Bunker so they can question or compare the item for sale if they have any doubts. I do not buying anything off ebay unless I have researched, researched, RESEARCHED.

If only people would research first then they can avoid being taken advantage of.

I agree. I don't buy ANYTHING until I look at the originals on kaisers bunker. Even if he does not have the same helmet plate (as in this case) you can certainlly look at the quality and construction of similar ones he has. That great web site has saved me thousands. Thinking about it, I really should contribute to his web site fees as I use it so much. #-o
 
Shiny new (and I do mean new) Pickelhaube in hand, our hero joins the forum with a 'Hey! Look at the rare bird I have!'.... let the games begin. ](*,) Poor fellow. :(
