I picked up a round leather tube with carry strap that was purported to be WWI. It could be a gun sight case etc. It has some numbers stamped on it but the only makers-type mark I could find was a cross over the letter N Like a plus sign style cross over a capital N.
Does that sound Swiss to you?
I bought it to use as a bamboo fly rod case as the airlines don't allow aluminum rod tubes on-board but do allow leather ones.
