Custom Steins

Hallo All:

I recently contacted some stein-crafters in Germany about creating regimental steins in the original style for my Field Artillery unit--needless to say, it was an expensive proposition, but one that I am not yet willing to abandon.

Has anyone made their own steins, or would anyone be interested in the idea? Not a cheap version, but something that really draws inspiration from the originals.

In other news, I am taking command of a HIMARS battery of artillery soon, and this was just one of my ideas to build esprit de corps.

When I was stationed in Furth in the late 80's I ordered my stein for (at that time) about 60 marks from the Kaserne drycleaner. Most of the drycleaners/tailors had a side business in porcelain steins, plaques and awards. if you know anyone stationed in Germany it may be an option to check it out. The euro to dollar ratio will kill you though

I have an old cheap one from battalion command days. Congrats on the command and keep thinking of those ideas :greentank: !
