Sorry, but newbie alert. I've only just joined this forum and this is my first post.
I have a genuine Prussian pickelhaube and have separately acquired an Uberzug. My problem is that, whilst the Uberzug perfectly fits the pickelhaube, I'd like to be able to see both at the same time (rather than covering the helmet up). I have 2 reproduction pickelhaubes (which I plan to sell off now that I have a real one) but the uberzug fits neither. On one, the shell is way too large and, on the other, the shell is too small and the spike too tall. I just wondered if anyone has any advice on how best to display the Uberzug? I'm sure I saw an article once about taking some kind of plaster-cast of the pickelhaube but I've no idea where I saw it.
