The object was straightened using a little water and a complex system of weights.

Great job, congratulations. What did put inside the cap to form it round?
Sandy I put in a wooden kitchen stand, its advantage is that its dimensions and weight are perfect for this type of work, and it also very well evaporates the water used for straightening.

This is very interesting - thanks for sharing. These tellermützen seem particularly prone to warping with age. How/where did you apply the water?

I apply water with my fingers where there are folds in the object. You can use spray water. There is only one condition, that the object must be wet with water, not floating in it. If the object does not want to straighten, repeat the process. It is best to wait a day until the water evaporates and repeat the operation.
