For sale this Ersatz Prussian Infantry (Pressed Paper) trooper spiked helmet (Pickelhaube). - 1914-1915.
Fine black pressed card board that is black lacquered helmet body with brass trim. Helmet body has perfect form. Exterior lacquered finish has some minor crazing but otherwise excellent condition. No extra holes in body. Black ersatz type tongue style liner in excellent shape.
Prewar quality brass trim. Enlisted style spike top that does not untwist. Original brass brads holding base to helmet body. Brass back spine. Front plate is the Prussian Line Regiment brass Eagle with banner. Front plate secured to helmet body by leather wedges. Original leather chinstrap. Original Reichs and Prussian EM cockades. This helmet is in excellent condition
