Volume 1 heavy cavalry

After years of research is a book in front of over 600 and around 700 photographs, some in color. Although the authors of each chapter with introductory and explanatory sections of text and tables have provided the many contemporary photographs are in the foreground. Not only uniform details are discussed, but also illustrated the helmets, weapons and equipment of the Cuirassiers heavy riders, hunters on horseback, and body Stabsordonnanzen gendarmerie.

Just received the two volumes of:

"Deutsche Offiziershelme aus der Kaiserzeit" Vol I & II
Steinach-Verlag
By Joachim Hilsenbeck.

Great pictures and text.

Pitty that the author chose to use only pictures from collectors helmets; rather than mix them with pictures from museum collections. (Rastatt etc...).
This could have been a "complete work".

But still: great books.
