Out of the woodwork (San Diego area) comes this typical "extra-Helm":
- Light tan liner
- Non-leather visors
- No grommets behind the plate
- No markings but the size
The shellac is a little scruffy here and there but at least the helmet is all original:

this is a nice one neat on the inside
by the non leather visor do you mean in vulkanfiber that the visor is made off
nice nice =D>

Yes, something like that. I do not know what exactly this material is but both visors retained a perfect shape.

Great patina ! I prefer them like that !
... like the Trappist beers and the women...in that order !!! (pssst...don't mention this to Missus Boss)

I don't know Bruno....that "scruffy exterior" is not up to your usual standards. I think you need to let me buy it from you!!. :thumb up:

Hi Bruno,

Interesting helmet!

Do you have some picts of the back of the wappen (loops or threads?) and of the front of the shell without wappen?
I think I see some curious traces in the leather shell near the non grommeted hole #-o
The brown liner seems to show that this helmet has been produced late 1915 while still using brass fittings.
Is the rear spine ventilated?
It´s also interesting to see that this helmet is still wearing some chinscales. I always though, as Larcade wrote, that FAR60 EM helmets wore the leather chinstrap starting 1915 #-o

Hi Philippe,
Thanks for your interest. I left yesterday and I will be away for professional reasons for about a month, hence not able to make more pictures soon. The front plate is the regular enlisted model. The rear spine is ventilated but remember this is an extra-Helm... which also justifies the chinscales; it may also well be a pre-1915 model. At any rate, extra-Helme did not follow regulations of enlisted models and would certainly not adopt the 1915 style...
Bruno
