Just received this helmet, sent for cleaning. I am posting some before pics and then will do the after shots once the fittings etc are cleaned. I am also looking for some additional information on this piece regarding rank etc. There is a very similare helme pictured on pg 123 of the reference book Kopfbedeckungen 1869-1919 by W. Wannenwetsch. This volume is totally devoted to Wurttemberg helmets. The helme shown on this page is missing the spike but is described as a "Feuerwehr kommandanten in der Trageweise" 28th Feb 1936. The helmet below (with spike) is exactly the same except for the chinscales, which are flat. The ones in the book helme are convex. All fittings are nickel silver. Here are the fotos:

Some new thoughts/info on this helme. This piece, can not be from the 1930's as it has both Reichs and Wurttemberg officer kokarden. No helmet from this decade would have an Imperial Reichs kokade on it. The tin makers tag is also a new one on me.....never seen one of these on a helmet before. Of note also, is the spike where as you can see the spike and neck unscrew alll in one piece. The star screw post threading is also quite fine and more modern than usual. Some pics of the helmet as it is now with fittings removed for cleaning:
Finished the cleaning a couple of days ago so I am posting 2 "after pics". This process took extra time because there was a missing screw post on the wappen. I did a trade with Randy T and got one sent up from TX.
