Hi!
All new to this forum, and have already found many extremely interesting threads :)

Im mainly into swedish pickelhaubes, and have as a royal dragoon in sweden been privileged to actually have been wearing one on duty, many many times!
Even though the swedish ones been my prio, i've now been looking into the immense range of data about the german ones (the swedish variations are very few) and ive gotten my first one, not to long ago.

But, i can't seem to find where it was used - the auctioneer claimed it to be a prussian dragoon helmet for enlisted, with some later and missing parts (like the bolts for the chinstrap). But the eagle doesnt seem to fit any description for a dragon, thou the form of the visir does. Is is an incorrectly and laterly added eagle? It also has the marking LG1890, with i believe means its a landjägerhaube? But again, can't find a LGhaube with that visir, or that eagle.

Thanks for any replies!

Flat scales..... not cavalry. Plus that is not a dragoon wappen. LG stands for Landes Gendarmerie. I had one in my collection and we have seen others here on the forum. They are often stamped LG and year on the inside front of the shell as was mine. They always come with the grenadier style eagle.

Of course Flat scales!! I'm blind #-o #-o
But about wappen....
Is it incorrect info in this catalog? Dragoon not had grenadier wappen?

I have the same book Leone :) . You can't tell by the side view photo provided but if we had a full front view you would see that it is a grenadier adler not dragoner. The dragoner wings are more vertical. These are more horizontal and extend out across the helmet shell.. Look at my Oldenberg Dragoon avatar and then the picture of this helmet, you will see the difference.

Of course, I have dragoon's wappens and grenadier's wappens in my collection and understand what differense is. But pay your attention at the image with description what I posted. There is written, that dragoon regiment No1 had gelb, Grenadier-adler helmwappen

First, Welcome to the forum! IF you know where I can get a spike for a new issue Royal Guards' Pickelhaube, I have one missing the detachable spike (top portion).

Is anybody skeptical of the domed screws(?) holding the chin strap in place?

:D Ron
