Please allow me to fix this for you. When you make a posting, you will see a little box with 'img'. You have to click that twice. Two img tags will appear.

They look like this: ""

Then you place your photo address in between, like this:

"

So I did that below, and here are your photos showing now.

Fishmac, we do not get into values here but what you have is a Prussian infantry iofficers pickelhaube. You can do a net search and get a good idea of from that. Brian

That was a good price...about what it was worth in my opinion. Congratulations. Brian

Lets look at the parts break down:
$200-$250 for the spike and the scales (each), wappen $100, stars $40, kokarden $75 each, front visor trim $50, rear spine $50. Shell, liner etc perhaps $100. So consequently, not a bad price. The modern comparison lies in buying replacement parts for your used car. The originals were far cheaper than what you have to pay for replacements.

Yep....maybe I need to turn loose of the spare parts I've hoarded and use the loot to buy a few extra nice helmets.

Great! :help: Let me know if you have an issued M1867/71 pattern single chinscale side. Got an issued M71 in trade from one of the members here and unfortunately one of the sides is a standard officer's, not the heavy, thick issued early pattern. T

No, 'fraid not--nothing that neat in the box.
I still need to photograph that galvano plate for you, too.
Later,
