From Prussia with Love

I know how much we collectors enjoy each other's collections... :)

Here's a few snapshots of my Prussian M15 family & older relatives for your enjoyment -- Can't wait to complete it with an M15 Lachmann Kürassier and maybe an M15 Dragoons haube, plus an M15 Shako, an M15 Busby, and an M15 Tschapka... #-o

Very nice and it seems that your collection is growing quite fast. I'd wish the same would hold for my collection but that's unfortunately not the case because we recently purchased a bigger car to accomodate four persons comfortably.

Regards and thanks for sharing,

Edwin

Thank you Edwin and Matt! Though this is one 'meager' collection compared to our revered master collectors here :notworthy:

It's still a great collection as I'm sure you know and very well photographed. I also like the fact you've specialized in Prussian 15's... nice!

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
Actually, I'm trying to 'specialize' in German imperial wartime headgear, fieldgear & weapons although Prussia does get the most focus.
This doesn't mean I don't dream of owning pre WW1 colonial headgear... =P~

Well Chris, this is where the problem is... Currently, I don't have enough space--no war room yet!--to exhibit all my militaria at once so I only display my pickelhauben on glass shelves as per the below photos. The rest of my 'junk' as my family calls it ( ) is CAREFULLY stored in cupboards and drawers.

Merci Bruno!
My Saxon haube came with no cockades or strap. I later bought the (non-serrated) cockades and 'borrowed' my M16 Stahlhelm's Ersatz Canvas Chinstrap until I find a leather strap... (see more photos of this particular strap towards the bottom of the 1st page here: http://www.pickelhaubes.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5770&hilit=+M16+stahlhelm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Thanks Ron; are you settled in Germany now?

We're still looking around. I'm under contract to teach for this year and would really like to stay in the US teaching for five to seven more years. However, if the government keeps dumping on education and teachers as it has lately in Wisconsin, we'll take up some of the offers we got while we were over there.

:D Ron

Superb collection! =D>

Looks like you’re having fun :) ,
love those pictures, would be great as a cover for a WWI book.

Very, very nice Ron. Lot's of hard work and may I say money spent... :thumb up:

Can you give some detail on the Christian Icon's and pottery items you have displayed with your hauben? They look really interesting too...
