Fusilier Regt 34

Fusilier Regt 34 Garrison Stettin
2 Officers helmets
the active officer on the left has a paper label inside
with the officers name and his regiment
I have not seen many labels like this in officers helmets

A very nice set of epaulettes and shoulder straps for a Hauptmann
Interesting that on the cyphers of the shoulder straps
the crowns are connected to the V cypher
yet on the epaulettes the crowns are not attached
My guess is that they are so large they had to fit above
on their own .

The Queen of Sweden as Chef of F R 34 wearing the uniform
and holding the helmet of the regiment . I like to see the lady
Chefs in their uniforms

Nice cypher of F R 34

Glenn ;
Yes
I can and will do
I will try for today
I need to get a good , clear shot
I will need my wife to help me
I have been using old photos that I
had already taken
I really can't remember if he was
F R 33 or F R 34
I have not looked at the tag in years
once I put them on the cabinet shelf
I leave them alone .
The helmet is a later war time
as you see from the photo
the chin straps also remove
so I assume that he was in the regiment later on

It would be great to have information on him
if you find anything .
Steve

James ;

Only 1 helmet on your want list ?

I don't think in 46 years I have seen
an enlisted helmet that I knew was / is correct
for F R 33 / F R 34

Perhaps the location of the Garrison ?

Steve

This is so great to have sutch a variety of stuf to match a helmet

Awsome collection as i see it

Jonas

Glenn ;
I put him under the wrong heading .
He is in fact Fusilier Regt 33.
In pencil inside the helmet
1. 7 . 16
paper label
Oberleutnant
Gruter
5. Komp. Fus. = Regt. Nr. 33
Laine writes that 5 and 6 Komp. took the
same front plate as Fusilier Regt 34
so a good feeling and 100 % correct
Now I just need to epaulettes and / or
officers shoulder straps for F R 33
Please let me know what you find out
Thanks
Steve

While I had the helmet out for the label shot
I took this photo with the spike and chin straps removed .

I have not been a member of the site
very long . I hope this has not been covered
in the past .

Would other site members please tell of
or show photos of helmets they have
in their collection with an officers name
and regiment on a paper label
inside the helmet .

Thank you

Steve

Hello
Nothing about this Grüter in the Verlustlisten. But if was wounded or killed after the end of 1916, the units are no more mentioned..
The FR 34 Regimentsgeschichte (regimentshistory) may have an Ehrentafel with the names of the officers killed or wounded ? I didn't have it.

Awesome epaulettes. I've been looking for a pair for ages!
Here's some of my stuff from FR34.

Hello razputin ;
Thank you for your post and photos .
I am super impressed !
My epaulettes I got years ago
they with the pair of shoulder straps that you see in my photo
same rank ; same man .

Where are you located ?
What sparked your special interest in Fusilier Regt 33 / 34 ?

Two things that impress me are your veterans badges
and your shoulder strap collection .
You have great depth in both areas

I also collect veterans badges
and I have what I consider a very serious collection
of officers cyphered shoulder straps .
I am surprised that there is not more interest in
shoulder straps .
Brian was extra nice to set up a shoulder strap section
at my suggestion , but there seems to be a lack of interest .
I understand this site is for helmets mainly
however every soldier and officer that had a helmet
wore shoulder straps and / or epaulettes also.

I have not seen another pair of epaulettes
offered since I bought mine .

You have a super group and thanks for showing it .

Hi Steve,

They're certainly very nice and I can't wait until I find a pair of my own. The Haubes looks magnificent as well. Is that a loose shoulderboard chiffre I'm spotting in the picture?

I'm from Sweden. Some of years ago I spotted a FR34 veteran badge with the three Swedish crowns on ebay and started reading up on the regiment and I've been hooked since. Set up in then Swedish Pommern as the Queens Life Guard at foot in 1720. Fought against Friedrich der Grosse in the Seven years war and the french in the Napoleonic wars, then handed over to the Prussians after the trade of Norway for Pommern in the Treaty of Kiel with Denmark in 1814. Lots of Swedish volunteers after that and during World War 1. In 1908 the Honor-Colonel title was given to the cousin of Wilhelm II, the Queen of Sweden as well as her personal chiffre for their shoulders. Her uniform you see in the postcard is preserved here in Sweden at the Royal Armory in Stockholm.

I think both the veteran badges and shoulderstraps are a really neat and for the most time an inexpensive hobby. One have a lifelong collecting if one focus on all of the regiments. As for me that only collect one, it's sadly very far between the new additions as of late.

Best regards
Christian
