One last comment which relates to the cleaning issue that caused concern for some members.....I have been sent 2 pairs of convex scales which are missing pieces which hopefully I can provide. I can't guarantee, this because as typical of the officer pickelhaube the width/length of the scales varies with different manufacturers. They are not standard! At the same time, if my original replacements match in size, they will be of a different patina. Thus, all scales must be cleaned to hopefully achieve a uniform patina/colour. This haube restoration can be a bit frustrating at times. :-?
