Yeah, :-& I've seen much better repros. Maybe for a CHEAP costume party... I mean, REALLY cheap.

I know the companies that make these. They all come out of northern india. I find it strange that they have enough of a market to continue the production. Surely re enactors would not run around with these on their heads? Or, for that, there could not be that many people who want to place one on a plinth in their home? Whole thing seems a bit weird to me.

Well, there are good reproductions and bad ones. I've a nice 6th Keurassier repro I bought before my real one because I wanted to be able to look at even a replica. I still have it and wear it for parties, fun events, even just to freak out the neighbors. This repro isn't very good.

They mainly started as brass wares dealers and makers of "antique" telescope and wall barometers. Like so many others they have just diverged their business. But, and as I originally said " I just can't see the market being sustainable". These are the same guys that make the repro brow plate for the M16, the cavalry cut out helmet. etc. and the list goes on...
