Gents,

What do we think of this one?
Is it correct that the crown of the eagle is void?

I do not feel this helmet at all... [-(
I think this is a part helmet with good things (cockades, spike) but with big red flags (eagle plate with voided crown for an enlisted man helmet, bandeau that seems to be a fake, combination of rear spine without vent with M15 liner on a helmet that does not seem to have been worn a lot...).
I would ask the seller for more pictures of the back of the wappen and of the "ghost" of it on the shell...I am sure there will be more red flags..
I would not buy it :thumbsdown:

I can see the seller now, pressing the bandeau into the shell trying to create a 'ghost'. :-? I think Phillipe hit this one pretty much on the head.

Yep... heating the shellac with a blow dryer and using several stout rubber bands on the ribbon to hold it tightly in place while the shell cools.

It would have been to good to be true to find a decent 1st Foot Gardehelmet for a fair price on Ebay..

I must say I am very impressed with this ghost!!! :o Pretty big holes in the shell... :eek:
How about the backside of the eagle? I am curious.
This helmet looks too shiny and too clean to me... And I don´t like this combination of M15 liner + wappen with voided crown + chinscales, but no M91 side posts for a leather chinstrap. It makes no sense to me. Just my opinion...
