The liner has tongues like a Pickelhaube; the edge is rolled outward, too...like on a Pickelhaube.

The front bill seams to be correctly rolled down but the liner is 100% not right.

Total redo on the liner or war time expedience ?
 
Water has been inside the shell, and on top of that it looks like someone added oil too. Yes the liner is not correct. Also, the chinstrap looks fake (I never seen buckles that big?!) . And before anyone buys this helmet, they would be wise to ask to see some pictures of the mortar board top removed..... :?
 
Yes to all of the above, not right. The liner has puffy edges to where it folds over. No cane pieces stitched in along the edge either. :thumbsdown:
