I am posting this for member KAGGR#1, he needs an explanation as to why the special Garde silver lace is on them. Does anyone know what this indicates?

Normal enlisted men's epaulettes for the Uhlans has the metal scales along the border of the tong .
Officers have the Prussian tape . I have not seen this this Garde silver lace / tape on the epaulettes .
These were at the S O S . The seller said that he thought they were for the senior sergeant ?
I saw in some reference that this tape was worn by someone who aspired to be a Paymaster .
Any thoughts / feedback from you Uhlan collectors ?
Thanks

I couldn't find it here, but this website may lead you in the right direction:

Good luck.

John ;
An advanced Uhlan collector pointed out that 1 Garde Uhlan epaulettes would be red underlay .
These have white underlay . So I am back to square 1 . Maybe a junior officer for 5 Garde Regt. zu Fuss ?
Thanks
Steve

I also noted in some reference that I saw the same Garde lace in silver
on straps or epaulettes and the titles were ;
Schirrmeister
and
OberSchirrmeister
but I don't know what these mean .
Steve

I believe that a Schirrmeister is a maintenance sergeant, or maintenance troop.
I'm not sure what was being maintained, but I think that is the translation.

John :)
