General Staff?

Afternoon all, this haube is currently on ebay Germany. Looking at it I was thinking it’s possibly a general staff helmet although the chinscales and at least one cockade are wrong. I asked the seller if they could take the wappen off but they said they were 80 years old and didn’t know how (selling late husband’s collection). Do you have any thoughts?

If the spike is original to the helmet this is a Garde Dragoner officer, not a General. Then chinscales are wrong anyway.

The spike is not correct for a general’s helmet, the T fitting is missing from the one chin scale. I also find the chin scales suspect....the leather backing looks new as does the small chin strap. Third, no black dye on the liner between the visors! Fourth, the leather trim on the rear visor edge looks too wide. Finally, as Bruno has pointed out....we have flat infantry scales on a Dragoner Officer helmet. Obviously, J, not a good helmet to buy. :thumbsdown:

Oh and the chin scale bosses look bogus to me as well.

That helmet has the strangest "Dart and Egg" pattern ring that I have ever seen.
It doesn't look like any of mine.
