Love the Gewehr 98. Nice examples have always been very hard to find. Bought my first one in1972 and still have it. Here are a couple more I've picked up over the years.

The tricked out one is a DWM 1916, the other is by Sauer, also in 1916.

Very nice examples indeed! I have a very limited knowledge of WW1 military issue weapons and have never seen that extended magazine before...is that a post war add on or was it used in the conflict??

The extended magazine - which is the correct term, although it is commonly called the trench magazine - was issued during the war. It’s a fairly scarce accessory.
