Gibraltar Cuff Titles

A fun aspect of collecting photos is occasionally lucking out on a photo showing the Hanoverian Gibraltar cuff title, as worn by Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 10, Füsilier-Regiment Nr. 73, and Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 79.

I will kick off this post with my most recent find, men of FR73.

This insignia was discussed at length at the German language Feldgrau forum.

The four infantry regiments of the 1. Reserve-Ersatz-Division removed their shoulder straps and received "pencil width" stripes on the collar as follows:

RER 1: White
RER 2: Red
RER 3: Yellow
RER 4: Blue

It further seems that the number of stripes corresponded with the number of the battalion: I, II & III.

Regards
Glenn

You are a gentleman and a scholar, Glenn!

Vizefeldwebel Willy Kober, 28 February, 1919 in Reserve Lazarett II, Ziegelhof, Oldenburg. Sporting the Gibraltar cuff title, but unsure of the regiment. Either Füsilier-Regiment 73 or Infanterie-Regiment 79.
