Got a present here for a Colonel von Born.
The following is engraved on the lower part:
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the foundation on October 14, 1874
dedicated by Colonel a.D.von Born.
Perhaps someone can tell me something about this Colonel von Born. I would be interested to know where he served and what his function was.

I will come back with some details later today. Oberst von Born was a former Kaiser Alexander Garde-Grenadier-Regiment officer who died in 1876. 14 October 1874 was the sixtieth anniversary of the formation of GGR 1.

Hello Glenn
I wasn't prepared for such a quick answer. Thank you very much. It helped me a lot. I've owned the staff for a long time. He served only as a decoration on a uniform. I'll be releasing some gift sabers soon. There may also be a few personalities here. Again thank you very much
