I saw this on ebay
What struck me funny are the side patches under the 91 posts.
They look like they should be on a felt uhlan.
Has anyone seen these patches on a felt before ?

I have seen patches sewn to the outside of felts as reinforcement for the M91 side posts --- but never like that.
That is unusual.
I would be very skeptical of this helmet.
Even if it is authentic it's pretty rough.

Being rough is not an issue with me , I can fix the condition.
if original I would like it.
Anybody else have comments ?
 
It looks original to me. The side pieces look like original material, just cut different. Instead of the more traditional pattern, they look like felt tschapka sides.
