We are receiving a series of extremely nice – extremely nice pictures from Sergio Semino. He is a major dealer that many of us have bought things from-- his website is http://www.militaria-online.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I do not know if this is for sale or what the price would be. He has historically been very very fast in answering emails if you use the boxes on his site.

The first one is from Grenadier Regiment eight. Look at the posts!!!! He sent me these pictures while I was looking for markings. An added benefit – I have not seen this previously.

Great post Joe!
Rare as hen's teeth those Knopf M91 !!
As mentioned in the German text above:
Leib Grenadier Regt Nr. 8: The rosettes are decorated with three different motives:
-The crowned "F.W.R" monogram for all Offz.
-a five-pointed star for Uffz and Mannsch of I. and II. Bns. (Grenadiere)
-a Flügelhorn replaces this star in the III. Bn. (Füsiliere)

J-L Larcade Volume I pages 29 and 30

from * 15 June 1898 on : "Leib Grenadier Regiment König Friedrich Wilhelm III" (1. Brandenburgisches) Nr 8. was allowed the large Grenadier Adler Wappen.
Before this date the Regt wore the Wappen Adler "Alte Regimenter" (FWR)

my remark: the helmet in the picture is marked 1896.
*It should have double holes then !!! IMHO...
