Grenadiermütze Erste Garde Regiment zu Fuss

I recently traded this helmet M1824 and would like to share some images. This magnificent mitre has the ultra rare Semper Talis Bandeau, only worn from 1889 until 1894 by the I. and II. Batallion (on the mitre that is, on the Pickelhaube only the I. Batallion had the semper Talis)when these mitres were handed over to the Kaiser Alexander Grenadier Regiment. The sunburst and the eagle of the Hohe Orden vom Schwarzen Adler have clear and crisp details, not polished away as is often the case. The word "often" is perhaps the understatement of the year, I have rarely seen these mitres in such outstanding condition outside a museum, completely untouched or as the Germans say unbefummelt. It seems to have been traveling by a time capsule... This helmet comes from the collection of Mr. Chris Rattray, with whom I have the pleasure to be in contact since the threat by Jim Turinetti on the same subject a few weeks ago. It is always a pleasure to have an interesting dialogue with a likewise minded collector and trading helmets without having to fear someone out there is trying to fool you.

I am having difficulties with posting images from photobucket, so I am including a link to my album. It would be a great help if an expert in this matter (Brian?) could help me with including the images in this post.

As an interesting comparison, the following topic contains photos of a
Kaiser Alexander Guard Grenadier Mitre to the Fusilier Bn.
