Hanseatic & Saxon Ersatz Schirmmützen WW1

Has anyone seen these?

Is that a sewn camouflage band on the M1915 Hanseatic Schirmmütze?

What about that Saxon "Ersatz" Schirmmütze; was it a common visor hat? Isn't this a post-WW1/Interwar hat rather?

The Saxon cap I think is of the style of the Freikorps/Reichswehr post 1918. I am not sure if these were around during WW1, maybe towards the end? Possibly like the visorless steel helmets, produced during the end of the war but only used after.

Speaking of the visorless helmets, were those really produced for Turkey (so they could pray to Allah without removing their headgear) or is that a wive's tale?

Sounds like a wise tale to me but who knows. I have read that they were developed without the visor so they could be better used with a gas mask. Given that only around 5,000 were made though makes them very very rare and desirable. They remind me of Darth Vader helmet.

There's an old post somewhere that discussed the visorless stahlhelm and if my memory isn't failing me, Chris from the UK (ukturkcollector) did post a photo featuring Ottoman soldiers wearing it...

Now, to go back to the 2 Schirmmützen that we're discussing here, here's one that I own that's supposedly from the early Third Reich era that's always puzzled me... I was told on the War Relics forum that it was a fake without much detail although the cap itself does look and smell old. Now I'm thinking that if the SS insignia on it (including the interior label) isn't original to the hat, the latter could still be an (ersatz) schirmmütze from the late war or early Reichswehr eras as it looks quite close to the Saxon visor cap discussed here, doesn't it? :-k

Sorry, but your Waffen-SS cap is a hideous fake, for many reasons, The insignia is especially bad, and the label is not one you would find in a W-SS cap. The gebirgsjager insignia is also bad , and totally inappropriate for this cap.

This I know; moreover, the inside labels are SS clothing tags which could be the real deal though misplaced.

However, as I tried to explain, I'm hoping the cap itself--i.e. excluding the insignia--could still be an (ersatz) schirmmütze from the late WW1 or early Reichswehr eras as it looks quite close to the eBay/Grenadier Militaria Saxon visor cap who's link I posted further up, doesn't it?
