Just a short question, what is the reason for Krätzchen-like headgear without kokarde? In this unit picture, four soldiers have standard krätzchen with kokarde, the others without. Stamped "S.B. Überplanm. L.J.B.2" in Dec. 1914. Just an economy measure for rear units?
No such thing as a Krätzchen without a Kokarde. Germans are comedians at heart, so perhaps they were clowning for the camera by turning their Krätzchen sideways to look like berets?
