Have these helmets in my collection. Would like to know if they are original.
The inner lining and the chinscales on this helmet are not original!

I don't understand the DR 13. I'm not that concerned with the helmets. Especially not with the enlisted men. I only collect officers. I don't want to give up a helmet that's not in order. I have described parts that I do not think are correct.

Just looking at the photos, I think the shell might be good. The interior has been repainted. The fasteners for the spike base are copies, the original have a much lower profile, plus the attaching nuts are too small and the wrong shape. Not sure about the kokarden (plus they are too large). The line eagle (which would make it a Meldreiter) might be original but my guess is someone replaced the posts and did a bad soldering job. So based on the photos, in my opinion, the shell and the spike appear original, but that’s about it.

Cheers,

Dennis
