Help ! Mecklenburg Strelitz Plate

All posts should have course threading. fakers use modern flat head screws. The solder should be globed on and have 100 years of dark patina. Ideally posts should also be of the usual split T type. The devil is in the details....all fine details should be crisp, check out my recent Meck wappen post. I already PM'd you with the other "tell".

Thank you both for sharing pictures and information!
Without an objective discussion and sharing of information within our hobby fakes will ruin our collections. In the end interest in our collections could be ignored or avoided by the next generation of militaria collectors.
Thank you
John

I would urge all members to review the posts we have in our Wappen Section and closely examine the examples shown there. Once you get away from the more common helmets wether they are Prussian, Bavarian etc. and into rarer helmets such as JR 109, 115, 100, 93, 95 etc, much of the value/price is in that special unique helmet plate. The rest of it is just a leather hat with a spike on it. So, pay close attention to that wappen.
