A quick look in my 1909 Ranglist
I did not see your man listed in K R 4
I forgot to look for Reserve K R 4
After that Hoffman is a pretty common name
Your best bet is Glenn if he sees your question

Glenn, It's an officers 4th Kurassier Koller but I have not been able to take full photos of it just yet.
