Help with identification?

Hi,

I recently found some old family photos and I was hoping someone might be able to help identify the uniforms or provide a date for the photographs. I think the man in the first photo is my great-great-grandfather. If that's right, he was born in 1857 in what is now Poland, but that's all the information I have. I know there's writing in Russian(?) on two of the photos, so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but I would be very grateful for any help.

(It looks like I'm having some trouble getting the photos to work, so here are links instead.)

In the photo of the three Russian soldiers, I have been unable to ID the unit of the one that you posted the enlargement of the shoulder board, it looks like 37Бб, but there are no regiments that fit that. Either this is a wartime photo and his regiment is not listed in the 1914 list, or I am just slow ( I'd wager on the latter) With out an insignia on the shoulder boared, he would be infantry, reserve or cavalry. The artillery, fortress and technical troops all had the branch above the regimental number.
Best
