Nice helmet. Thanks for sharing.
Extra-Helm identification of a one-year volunteer and an officer, is complicated among the Hessians. No Perlring, no stars.
The only thing left is the enameling on Ludwig's star, and the officer's roundels...on officers.
Here, as on my 115, the roundels are “troop or non-commissioned officer”, so it's not an officer's helmet.
To make yours an officer, simply exchange the roundels with the “officer” ones. Mine, on the other hand, requires a star with a black enamel background, but the schell is of the “Kammer” type, with a 9-tooth wolf's-tooth liner in basane, and the metal edge of the visor is too wide.
Both have the openwork crown, higher tip, scaled M71 officer chinstrap, and “dragon”-style rear spine, with the 2 rivets visible.
