Hey..

Any expert in these hessen helmets? I like this but im no expert. Think some of the pictures are a little to dark to see anything.

Anyone can say something about the dealer?

What do you think a fair price would be on this one?

Hey Doc:
I am certainly no expert but it does look good to me. We can see the typical Hessen large tin spike support disc on the inside. This is an older helme.....square tiped liner and screw posts with wing nuts for the wappen which are older characteristics. The spine also has the extra round brad at the mid way point which is legit for dragoner and Hessen. I would email him to see if the spike unscrews...it should as Drag Regts 23 and 24 both wore a blcak parade trichter. The markings are consistent with dragoner as well but no 23 or 24. My opinion.... looks legit. Price ???? $1200 + ?? Brian
Regarding the screw off spike, I just took another look and you can see the square nut and screw post of this style of spike in the interior shot provided.

Hi Doc:

It may be nothing, but there's something about the neck visor that puzzles me. Specifically, the visor appears very curved; especially in the side view displaying the Reichskokarde. Usually, this contour is more angular. I'm not terribly familiar with the idiosyncracies of Hessen helmets, but I'd want to see better pictures before committing.

In all other respects, I concur with Brian.
