Dear all,
This summer, I intend to visit the Hollandstellung a German defensive line that runs parallel to the Dutch border from Knokke to Antwerp. It was constructed by the Germans in 1916 to prevent an invasion by the allies from neutral Holland. This never happened and the Hollandstellung was never used. It comprises a line of 411 bunkers connected by trenches and is remarkably well preserved, athough it is not well known. The few websites about the Hollandstellung I found are primarily in Dutch. However, there is a small thread on the great war form: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/37385-hollandstellung/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Does anyone of you have additional information about the Hollandstellung and which places are a must to visit?
Regards,
Edwin
