HR 17 Leutnant

It might also be Husaren Regiment 13, which in 1888 was garrisoned in Frankfurt, not far from Cassel (nowadays, Kassel)

Hi Bruno,
Nice photo! I think the 17th HR was the only Hussar Regiment that had that style of braid on their Attila. All the other Hussar Regiment officer's Attilas had chain braid and did not have the fluted slide on either side of the buttons. Here are 2 photos from Herr and Nguyen showing the difference.

Perhaps all is not lost on the name front; there was exactly one Sekonde-Lieutenant d.R. of Husaren-Regiment Nr. 17 in 1888 on the rolls of 2. Bataillon 3. Hessisches-Landwehr-Regiment (1. Cassel), re-named Landwehrbezirk I Cassel the same year. Herr Seeliger being the reserve officer in question.

Regards
Glenn
