Lots of character in this studio portrait of two NCOs and their Einjährig-Freiwilliger friend (or brother?). All from Husaren-Regt. Kaiser Nikolaus II von Rußland (1.Westfälisches ) Nr.8. Look at the spanky new boots on the EF gent in the middle – the very definition of a “well-heeled” young man, in his eigentum best!

Great photo! My old stomping ground - Paderborn.

There is a rather nice little military museum at the former stables at one of the barracks the regiment occupied in the area at Schloß-Neuhaus. The old guard house is still in existence as is the officers' mess.
