Hi to everyone....
It's the first WWI schirmmütze I'm handling....I think it's a good one but which regiment? 6° or 10°?
from what they tell me the difference lies in a slight color difference in the red of the band ....and I recognize that from a monitor it becomes difficult to see the difference .... but in your opinion?
Thanks and all my best from Turin
Giorgio

I vote for H R 10
Laine shows rose / dark pink band
your band looks like more than just a red to me
but the firms that put these hats together used different
bolts of material
I see that a lot in the colors of the underlay on shoulder straps

It was not my intention to value the prices of caps, just to compare the colors 🤣
I understand
but the very high price jumped out at me
and for a rather stumpy low older hat
which lacks the appeal of the higher peaked dress hats
I know that you were only showing the color
I would not pay $500 for the D R hat
that's just me
Steve

and ONLY $ 1,395.00 !
Steve
Really thanks for your answers and help.... (y)
@KAGGR (Steve)
Honestly I don't know where this price come from...:D
I bought it here in Milan two weeks ago at nearly a third of that price..
Thank again to everyone.....
Giorgio

Ahh....ok... I saw where that price come from....sorry I missed the link posted by Steve... :D (y)
Regards

Right!? I handled this one at the SOS this year - about a II- in my view, with some amateurish repairs and re-stitching. DR has some eye-wateringly unrealistic prices on cloth headgear (and spiked helmets). HR6 is surprisingly scarce these days...but still.

Nr.10. The maker of this cap was in Stendal. That was the garisson town of the 10 Hussars.
It is a Feldmütze, not a Schirmmütze.
Beat me to it! 100% agree on HR10 from Stendal.

Also agree with Steve on the color variation, especially for this regiment's deep pink facing color. I've seen everything from a dark salmon pink to a near-fluorescent bright crimson. Regardless, you scored a beautiful cap at an excellent price - congrats Giorgio!

Just for fun and to compare prices
I did a quick check of Weitze's web site
under Prussia to see what he might have to offer
No H R 6
I did see 4 different hats for H R 11 with prices
from 450 E to 650 E
H R 12 or 14 at 420 E
quite a difference in price range from the hat at Der R
there were some cavalry Feldgrau hats at a higher price range
but most all Feldgrau brings higher prices

I sold a field gray HR11 officers cap last year it’s very rare and was less than a grand. A colored one should be less imo as they’re always less rare, even with a royals monogram inside.

I do definitly agee that fieldgrey is more expensive, but the reason is not rare or not, it has that touch of history, being used during war / combat, whereas ‘dunkelblau’ is more associatied with peacetime parade drill ( which is not as interesting)…
