I R 162

I find it interesting that the NCO lace looks to be hand tacked on the cuff but the collar lace looks to be machine sewn. It’s hard to tell for sure.

A collector friend who is not on this site pointed out to me
that to him it was odd that he was in a pre war Waffenrock
but had the 2 Iron Cross awards
I guess that he expected to see him in a Feldgrau uniform ?
He could have been home on leave
or the photo could have been taken after the war ?

Quite usually seen both during and after war I think... Same to those officers wearing parade sash or bandolier with their Feldgrau uniforms.
He also wears a wartime privately purchased belt.
