Identification Needed: Shell Casings

I picked these up years ago at a church rummage sale, they were being sold as candle holders :) . I have no clue as to origin, time period or calibre. I would very much appreciate any information that members can provide.

They are approx 3.75 inches long or 9.25cm, the base diameter measures approx 2.75 inches or 4.3cm. The markings are visible in the pics but for clarification: PD.Ps, 186, 117, exploding bomb symbol, 37-85. The second has all of these except for a number change 20, 118.
