I'm looking at this one

I am currently watching this and almost bought it outright, but I do have a couple of issues.

The helmet has been refitted for a reserve Wappen. The original holes have been plugged and that looks legit.
The chinstrap has the thicker fittings that would be used to replace chinscales, also looks legit.
My questions:
Wouldn't a helmet that had been reworked for a different Wappen have a BKA mark in it? I don't see one.
The helmet is dated 1896 but it has a non-vented rear spine. If it was reworked from an earlier 1891 wouldn't it have an over-stamped date?

I like yours better. I deleted the other one and am watching yours. I have my limits so we'll see what happens.
I also noticed on the above listed helmet that the Wappen was unusual. The wings are not voided. Not sure if it is an older Wappen or perhaps a Kurassier model. Too many questions on that one so I'm glad I didn't pursue it.
