Any idea about the Saxon flag ?Thank you, for showing this nice picture,
Only three cavalry regiments received a parade band with this Russian design.
- Kurassier-Regiment Kaiser Nikokaus I von Russland (Brandenburgischen) Nr.6
- 2 Garde Dragoner Regiment.
- Ulanen-Regiment Kaiser Alexander II von Russland (1. Brandenburgischens) Nr.3
By the colour, and the letter A on the end of the ribbon we can be sure that it is the standard of the 2.Garde Dragoner Rgt. as you pointed out.

Excellent informationFollowing its accession to the North German Confederation in 1867 and the conclusion of military agreements with Prussia, Saxony became a member of the German Empire in 1871.
A peculiarity after the union was that the Saxon cavalry did not carry standards. That is why it is difficult to see banners during the reign of Wilhelm II.
Only at some important celebrations the old banners were taken out of the museums.
Here we can see the standard of the Garde-Reiter-Regiments carried until 1849.

And three more banners from the Armeemuseum of Dresden.
