Gents,
I'm considering buying an Infantry M1910 Schirmmütze.
According to seller, it is made from a regular quality feldgrau wool with a wool red band and piping (i.e. no velvet).
The interior has an ersatz leather sweatband & a white artificial silk lining. There are no markings to be seen in there.
Now here's the trick: It has an Officer Reichs Cockade and a State OR Cockade (painted).
Would that make it an NCO Cap? Didn't NCO's get to upgrade both cockades to Officer's if they wanted?
