Hello you all,

May i ask your opinions regarding a 1895 model Pickelhaube.
as you can see in the pictures below :

1) the classic front plate of prussian Infantery but with a silver Cuum Quique ( black eagle) insert.
I did some research and i never found a similar combination of both in 1 front plate.
2) The spike on top has a black metal ring as a kind of support.
3) the kokards has a diameter of 5,5cm.

The helmet is in a general minit condition, is not a copy for sure, except the leather chinstrap.

May i ask you if you ever saw a similar helmet before ?
Thanks in advance to you all,
Kind regards.

Phil

Any markings on the rear visor or inside the shell? Usually, the black tin spike base support disc is on the inside of the shell. However, we often see it as here non regulation.

That's a great looking helmet! As Bruno & Brian have said, it looks like one that would have been used in the Prussian NCO schools.

I look forward to seeing what markings there might be on the underside of the back visor.

Best Wishes,

Alan

Thanks to you all for the info. There is a stamp in the shell but not readable, and a number 56. size ? but nothing on back visor.
Most probably the helmet has been restored. I am still looking for an original brass chinstrap to replace the repro.
Greetz from Europe and for the americans have a great thanksgiving !!.
again Thanks.
Greetzzz.
