Good evening gentlemen,

I stumbled across this while surfing ebay and noticed that every man in this photo is wearing a garde pickelhaube but all the visible shoulder boards are for JR.203 would anyone happen to have an explanation for this?

Good morning,
Makes good sense: R.I.R. 203 raised 1.9.1914 by Garde Korps; I. Btl by Ers. Btl. 5. Garde-Rgt zu Fuß in Spandau, II. Btl by Ers. Btl. Garde-Gren. Rgt 5. in Spandau, III Btl by Ers. Btl. Garde-Gren. Rgt 3. in Berlin-Charlottenburg, from Jürgen Kraus, "Handbuch der Verbände und Truppen des deutschen Heeres 1914-1918", Infanterie, Band 2, Reserve- und Landwehr-Infanterie.
Regards,
Lars

Excellent information
Can you tell me about Prussian I R 335 ?
I have a single officers shoulder strap from that unit
It has double underlay of yellow over white
I suspect that it has something to do with a Garde Unit
maybe 3 G R zu Fuss or Garde Fusiliers ?
I will post a photo later
Thanks
Steve
