IR 88 helmet restored, before and after photo's

This is a follow up to last weeks post of my new IR 88 helmet that had the wrong spike and has a IR 87 frontplate on it.

Well after the help of a fellow collector, I was able to trade the plate for the correct IR 88 plate and I had the correct spike on hand!

So here are the before and after pictures

I am a happy man!!

Argggh! I want one of these even more than an M95 bloody shako!! Congrats James you must have a little Irish in you plus that Canadienne Fancais blood to score a helmet with those markings and be able to talk someone out of that JR88 wappen. Very nice!!! Brian
