Although no longer in my collection, I thought I'd post a photo of the 3rd Jaeger zu Pferde Regimental standard.

That's crazy. It must have been a very tough decision to let one of your best items go.

It was marvelous. At least you can say you owned one. :thumb up:

Dennis ;
Yes , I remember that one well as I was the one who sold it to you .
Somewhere I think that I have a photo of you and I when I passed
the torch on to you .I think that it was at Rick's house back in 2004
or 2005 ? That brings back good old memories .I think that you
sold it to Helmut Weitze at the S O S ? I missed seeing you that year
but I knew that you were there .It seems that it did not last long on
Weitze's site .I wonder who the new owner is ? There were only 14
of those J z P standartes ever made and each one was different .
Six of the J z P Regiment flags were looted by the Russian Army
after WW II and taken back to Russia .They were then trooped
in their Victory Parade .After the parade they were thrown in mass
on the steps of Linen's Tomb .Later removed into a Russian museum .
Thanks for the post about a flag , one of my favorite subjects .

P S ; I am pretty sure that our former flag was maybe part of
the Imperial flags taken by General George Patton's unit after
WW II .In the 1950's those flags were given back to the Germans .
However while in storage some of our G.I. 's removed flags from
their poles and brought them back to the States .
D H M has several poles with the unit rings still on them
but no flags

Tony,

Yes, it was a tough decision, but the right one for me. I owned and enjoyed it for 13 years

Hi Steve

Yes, it was 2005 at Rick's house, good times! Weitze got it at the 2018 SOS, it didn't last long once he posted it on his site.
I should see if I can find the photo from Rick's place.

Dennis
